Florida Uzoaru is a social enterprenueur with special interest in sexual health and communication. She is the founder of Slide Safe – an innovative direct-to-consumer online platform that sells low-cost HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B self-testing kits and contraception in Nigeria. Florida describes herself as extremely opinionated and driven. Since establishing Slide Safe in 2017, she has passionately campaigned for a world where sexis pleasurable and consensual for all involved parties, and is above all free from STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Florida received her Bachelor’s in Food Science and Technology, an MSc in Public Health and Policy from Queen Mary University of London, and is currently a first year public health doctoral student at Saint Louis University with a concentration in behavioral science and health education. Florida’s research interest includes health communication and youth participation for sexual health. Florida’s goal is for her life’s work to directly influence local and international policies on sexual health.
