Women in Tech Africa is the largest women’s technology group in Africa and has membership from over 30 African countries. The Group believes that women are equally capable of being at the forefront of technological development and advancement in Africa and the world at large. Hence, its agenda of encouraging more women into the technological field and taking up leadership positions, creating a pipeline for girls to choose technology and encouraging female entrepreneurship. The ultimate aim is to impact personal lives.

 

Women in Tech Africa currently has physical chapters in Ghana, Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja), Botswana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Cape Verde, Belgium, Ireland. The group seeks to add five more countries to the number of its physical chapters by the end of 2017; Senegal, Rwanda, DR Congo, Tanzania and South Africa in Africa and five more in the diaspora China, Germany, Canada, France and Spain.
